I am expecting a new right AirPod Pro today as I am still under warranty, but I am getting particularly nervous seeing how many of users are experiencing similar issues. Together we reset the AirPod Pros to factory mode and reconnected them, but the noise remained. Yesterday, while taking a walk, I noticed that the slight breeze hitting my right ear caused the sound as well, which reminded me to contact Apple Support. Music and incoming voices via phone calls, however, do not cause the popping/cracking effect, that is, until I speak, cough, swallow or move my jaw. I shared the pods with my wife who noticed the same issue - confirming that it wasn't my ear. Originally, the "cracking" would disappear when I switched to 'noice cancellation' mode but, eventually, I experienced it in all modes. I can even recreate the sound while the Pods are simply in my ears and not being used. This would happen regardless of the device I paired them with - iPhone, iPad or iMac. In February 2020 I noticed that the right bud started to pop / crack / vibrate in 'transparency' and 'off' modes whenever I spoke or made a general human noise (cough, swallow, etc.). Took a couple HARD hits on the vent that faces your ears, not the one on the outside, and immediately it started saying good seal after days of telling me to adjust or try a different tip. Worked for me as well, only right side was failing ear tip fit test. Also had the increased bone conduction in right ear, this also has been greatly reduced. Noticed an immediate change in inner ear pressure and both sides have now passed the tests Numerous times, and right unit seems to have slightly better bass then before cleaning. Finally in a last ditch effort put my mouth over the outside grills and used suction to try to clear them out (super sexy I know). Was unsuccessful at multiple methods such as sticky tape or just whipping off with lint free cloth. After reading about others having success with cleaning outside grills, I gave this an attempt. Also noticed sense of increases pressure in right ear. Good for about a week then right one started failing test again. I am going to throw my hat into the ring With the theory of a clogged vent.
